Sarina’s Important Life Lesson 5
Use empowering words in your self-talk. Don't underestimate the potency of this. There is scientific evidence that 80 per cent of our day is self-talk. We can choose to negatively talk or positively praise ourselves.
It stands to reason that if most of our self talk is positive, we will act in a positive, it can be done, manner. The reverse is true if our thoughts are mostly negative. I have a passionate belief in the power of words to give you strength.
In my scrapbook there is a copy of an article written about me several years ago by an interviewer who was fascinated by my tendency to speak in motivational phrases. He was right. I did speak (and think) in such phrases – and I still do – because I attended every motivational seminar that was available to me, and still do as part of the lifetime learning process I have committed myself to.
This is an extract of what the interviewer wrote in his article, which was titled The Rise and Rise of Sarina Russo: “Sarina Russo likes to speak in those motivational phrases that drip like the sweetest honey from the tongues of entrepreneurs giddy with their own success. Slogans like, Your attitude determines your altitude and the speed of the leader determines the speed of the gang. But the remarkable thing about her is that she has found success through living out such phrases, putting flesh on their glibness, giving meaning to words that, for many of us, are without meaning.”
